Health Promoting School

The school is a key setting for health promotion. A HPS supports a whole school approach to promoting health. and well-being. It strives to create an environment where positive relationships are fostered among students, staff, parents, guardians and the wider school community. School can make a substantial contribution to a student’s health and well-being. This is being increasingly recognised by many international bodies including, for example, the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and UNESCO

Mindfulness Monday:

As part of our HPS programme this year we are focusing on Mental Health. Our first initiative is called Mindfulness Monday . This means that on the first Monday of each month, pupils will not receive regular homework. Instead they are asked to spend time with their families doing activities that they may not always have time to do. It can be any activity you choose, the important thing is that we spend quality time with our families, doing something enjoyable and taking a break from the busy lives that we lead.
