Dave’s Jungle came to visit our class today. He brought along many animals.
Firstly Dave showed us his two pythons. They were very long. His pythons were called Seamus and Max. Pythons shed their skin every 6 weeks. Dave had a sample of skin which we got to touch! Pythons love eating rats. They hunt rats by sneaking up behind them. Next they wrap their body around the rat and squeeze their prey until they are dead. Pythons swallow their food whole. They do not need to chew it!
Secondly Dave showed us a tarantula. Tarantulas have 8 legs. They live in South America. They use their fangs to grab bugs and other insects.

We also learned about scorpions, Chinese water dragons, a lizard and an anaconda.
Finally we saw Kevin the crocodile. Kevin lives in South America. He is a 14 year old fully grown crocodile!
Every child got a chance to touch and hold the animals. All the children were very brave. It was a very exciting activity which we all enjoyed.
